Pawleys Island Music and Arts Festival
Pawleys Island host an annual art festival during the fall season that allows the community to come together and share their love of the arts. This past weekend was the kickoff event for the festival and the community held a sidewalk art contest.
The contestants ranged in ages from four to 50 and up. There were mermaids, sea “gals” and even a dinosaur named Rawry.
One of the contestants said, “This festival is always fun because you never know what to expect and it is always fun, it brings people together.”
The arts and music festival will last until Oct. 21 with most of the events happening in Francis Marion Park. While this weekend was mainly focused on chalking and some paintings, the festival is bringing in many local musicians to the mix.
Delbert McClinton, an American blues rock singer who has won several Grammys, will be playing on Oct. 7 at the Pawleys Island Reserve Club.
This festival has something to offer for everyone at any age.
