UPDATE: Person robbed at gunpoint at Monarch Apartments, male arrested

Conway police have made one arrest in reference to an armed robbery that happened at Monarch Apartments just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The victim said someone came into his room, pointed a gun and demanded money, according to Selena Small with Conway Police Department.

Small said through investigation, a second subject was arrested for accessory before the fact of armed robbery.

His name will be released once he is officially charged.

Police are still investigating leads to arrest the person that committed the armed robbery, according to Small.

A CCU Alert was sent out just before 5 p.m. telling students at and near Monarch Apartments to shelter in place.

The alert said police were looking for a black male, 5-foot-5-inches, with tattoos on both arms, in between 150-160 pounds, wearing a red hoodie, and sweatpants cut off at the knees in connection to an armed robbery at the off-campus housing complex.

At 6:30 p.m., CCU sent out another alert telling students the “shelter in place” protocol was lifted, but to stay aware and to report any suspicious activity.

As of 8 p.m., police are still looking for the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
