What to do in Horry County on St. Patrick's Day


There are three must attend events in the Myrtle Beach area this St. Patrick’s day.

The Luck of the MarshWalk

In Murrells Inlet, one has the chance to win $1,000 in cash for participating in the Luck of the MarshWalk. To qualify, one has to dress in their best green attire and collect colored coins from each restaurant and bar along the route. There will also be secret leprechauns wandering through the festival giving out coins to their favorite costumed participants.

North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

This year will be the 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade. The parade will be held on Main Street at 9 a.m, and the St. Patrick’s Day Festival will follow with three stages of live music and a children’s area that includes rides and amusements from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be approximately 150 vendors that will have an assortment of crafts, products and treats on display to purchase.

9th Annual Irish Fest at the Market Common Market Commons hosts an all-day festival that starts at 11 a.m and ends at 7 p.m. With live music from local bands and artists such as the Paul Grimshaw Band, Mike O'Donnell and the Jebb Mac Band, this is the perfect event for the whole family. The Conway Celtic Pipers will also be playing traditional Irish tunes on bagpipes. Face painting and inflatables will be available to children whereas adults will surely appreciate the food and beer vendors, and the wide array of souvenirs.
