Coastal Women's Tennis continues dominance

The Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team is continuing their hot streak as they extended their winning streak to six matches this weekend with a dominant 6-1 win over Francis Marion.
The Chants swept all three doubles courts before taking five of the six singles points.
Francis Marion would win its lone point of the match on the third singles court as Anna Wintrich defeated Sara Bondar 6-3, 2-6, 10-6.
Somer Dalla-Bona, Maria Khomchenko and Jessie Mount won all their singles matches in straight sets.
The women’s tennis team is on an absolute tear right now, going 11-2 since they started the season with a 2-3 record. Their two losses during that 13-match span was to the eleventh-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks and a tough 4-3 loss to former Big South rival Campbell.
With a win on Thursday, the Chanticleers can match their 2017 winning streak of seven games and if the Chanticleers are able to defeat Troy and South Alabama this weekend, the team will match the 2016 winning streak of nine matches.
The longest winning streak in Coastal Women’s Tennis history happened in 2006 when the Chanticleers opened their season 15-0.
The Lady Chanticleers take on South Carolina State this Thursday, April 5 at the Stevens Tennis Complex with matches beginning at 1 p.m.
