Haley Alexander, Coastal women's lacrosse, named The Chanticleer's Player of the Month

Haley Alexander, junior midfielder of the Coastal Carolina Women’s Lacrosse team, is The Chanticleer’s Player of the Month for April 2018.

Alexander, a native of Bel-Air, Md., has been on a tear this season, scoring 34 goals and registering 14 assists. She scored her 100th career goal for the Chanticleers in a 17-7 win over Mercer on Sunday, April 15. On April 8, in match against conference rival Jacksonville, Alexander tallied three points – a goal and two assists – to reach the 125-career point mark as a Chanticleer.

Alexander is averaging 2.47 goals per game and has scored in every single game this season, including four games with three goals and two games with four goals. She is also averaging at least one assist per game thanks to an impressive five-assist performance in a March 22 game against Gardner-Webb.

With five games left in the regular season plus the conference tournament, there is no doubt that Alexander will surpass her career-high for goals in a season, which is 39.

The Chanticleers travel to take on Old Dominion in the season finale on April 28 with the first draw at noon.
