CCU men’s soccer defeats Radford

The CCU Men’s Soccer team took on Radford University on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Coastal defeated Radford with a score of 3-2 with all three goals scored by Sam Snaith, the freshman Forward hailing from the United Kingdom. Snaith had five shots, with three in goal.

The first goal was scored by Snaith in the first half. DZ Harmon assisted Snaith with the goal in the first. No further goals were scored in first half and the score remained 1-0.

In the second half, Snaith claimed his second goal of the season with an assist from Tyrone Mondi.

In between Coastal’s second and third goals, Thure Ilgner scored for Radford, putting CCU’s competition on the board. Shortly following Radford’s first goal came Snaith with an assist from Tsiki Ntsabeleng. The assist led to Coastal’s third goal of the game.

Radford would go on to score once more, bringing the final score to 2-3.

CCU’s win against Radford marks head coach Shaun Docking’s 300th career win.

The CCU men’s soccer team will be competing against Virginia Commonwealth University on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The match will be hosted at CCU’s soccer stadium.
