Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Tom Steyer hosting local rallies ahead of Saturday primaries

With the South Carolina Democratic primaries approaching on Saturday, Feb. 29, three candidates will be holding rallies at the Grand Strand.

First, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, is Senator Bernie Sanders’ rally at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach. Doors will open to supporters at 1:30 p.m. and the rally will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Tom Steyer will hold a meet and greet on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Nacho Hippo at the Market Common in Myrtle Beach. The event will be free, and food and beverages will be provided.

The event will be free to attend, and entry will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. No tickets are required.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, former Vice President Joe Biden will be hosting a rally at the Williams-Brice building at CCU. Doors will open at 5:30 p.p. Biden will be joined by Empire actress Vivica A. Fox.

This event will also be free. No information has been given on attendance limits.

For those students willing to make a trek, some candidates will be having an event elsewhere in South Carolina this week. The closest events are:

  • Tulsi Gabbard Town Hall on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. in North Charleston at Full Word Ministries.

  • Pete Buttigieg Get-Out-the-Vote Town Hall on Friday, Feb. 28 in Columbia at 7:00 p.m. The location is to be determined but will be announced through his campaign website.

  • Donald Trump’s Keep America Great Rally will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 at the North Charleston Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.

Students who live in the area and would like to vote in the primary election on Saturday can go here to find their polling station.
