Recap of CCU's parent's weekend 2021

This year parent’s weekend started Friday, Oct. 1, and concluded on Sunday, Oct. 3.
Each year, Coastal Carolina University welcomes families to see their students for a weekend and enjoy events hosted by the school.
Every family that registers for the weekend package has access to a variety of fun activities on and off-campus. There are also extra activities that are not included in the package that cost additional money.
Parents who registered checked in on Friday between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. There was also a late check-in on Saturday for those who missed the first one.
Some of the activities that were included in the package were a tour of Kimbel library, rock climbing night at HTC, a movie night in the Union theater of the popular Disney movie “Cruella,” a family trivia night among many other things.
Other activities that had an additional cost ( they were not included in the parent’s package) were the annual golf tournament on Hackler course, a trip to Waities island, and a Conway historical guided walking tour.
Tickets to the football game against the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) were not included in the package and families should have made sure to purchase tickets separately if they wanted to attend. Students could only reserve one guest ticket in the student section. The family weekend tailgate began at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and was held next to the soccer field across from Brooks Stadium.
The CCU website provides local attractions around Conway and Myrtle Beach that were also not included in the package. Both the Surfside Beach fall festival and the Downtown Conway fall festival were held on Oct. 2 and were free to the public.
A full spreadsheet of activities that took place can be found at coastal.edu under “2021 Family Weekend”.
It was an eventful weekend for parents and their students. Now we wait in anticipation for next year!
