Special effects makeup for beginners: bullet hole wound

Have you ever wanted to do special effects makeup, but didn’t know where or how to start? Well, look no further because I’m going to give you a step-by-step tutorial of a simple special effects' makeup look.

Items:

  • Foundation

  • Q-tips

  • Primer

  • Liquid latex

  • Toilet paper

  • Scissors

  • Fake gel blood

  • Black and red eyeshadow

  • Flat eyeshadow brush

  • Fluffy eyeshadow brush

  • Fluffy concealer brush

  • Syringe

Step 1) Take a q-tip and place a layer of liquid latex in a circle on your forehead.

Step 2) Take a sheet of toilet paper and separate the two plies. Place one ply on top of the liquid latex and rip off the excess toilet paper.

Step 3) Place another layer of liquid latex on top of the toilet paper, then take another half-ply of toilet paper and place it on the liquid latex. Rip off the excess toilet paper and do this for another layer.

Step 4) Take scissors and cut a hole in the center of the liquid latex and toilet paper hole. Then, place a layer of liquid latex in the center of the hole, and let dry completely. Put face primer on and add a layer of foundation all over your face to blend in the latex. If you want to put a full face of makeup on, now would be the time to do so before moving on.

Step 5) After that, use a fluffy eyeshadow brush and take black eyeshadow and place it in the cut hole. Then use the flat eyeshadow brush and place some red eyeshadow on top on the black eyeshadow, and around the edges of the “wound”.

Step 6) Then use a fluffy concealer brush and place a lot of gel blood inside the bullet wound.

Step 7) Lastly, put gel blood into a syringe, and make blood drops come out of the wound, and voila! Now you have a bullet hole wound!
